Discipline is never an end in itself, only a means to an end.” - Robert Fripp

Since then he has recorded and performed original music with Lindsie Reitz, Gareth Woods and Andrew Fraker & Sons. His most recent recording is "songs for the years gone by" from The Band Calderisi, who are currently active in the Chicago area.

DEEPAK ARIGA

BASS & CHAPMAN STICK

Deepak has been playing guitar and bass for over 40 years (yes, he’s old) and is finally getting the hang of it. He started playing Chapman Stick in 2014 as he needed a brain challenge to stave off potential dementia (he sucks at Sudoku). When not making a noise, his other passions are bicycling and seeking the perfect Masala Dosa (an Indian crepe stuffed with spicy potatoes, served with a steaming lentil soup and coconut chutney). He lives in Oak Park with his school teacher wife (the hardest job in the world and she also plays a mean flute) and has contributed four lovely children to the population. Playing King Crimson is a dream come true and provides the perfect opportunity to hang out with some of the finest musical colleagues one can hope for (I am contractually obligated to say that, but it’s true).

ELI WILSON

SAXOPHONE & WIND SYNTH

Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Eli received a Bachelor’s of Music in jazz studies from Wayne State University in 2011. During that time he studied jazz improvisation and arranging, and performed with artists such as John Clayton, Eddie Daniels, Jimmy Heath, and Jerry Bergonzi as part of the WSU Big Band. He has also worked with Motown artists such as The Temptations, The Four Tops and Martha Reeves, and has won multiple awards for his arrangements and compositions. He currently lives in Chicago and is active in a wide variety of musical projects and styles.

KEN KRZYWICKI

GUITAR

Ken started playing guitar in 1982 and was drawn to progressive rock early on, King Crimson in particular after hearing “The Great Deceiver” as a teenager. His prog guitar influences—Steve Howe, Steve Hackett, and Robert Fripp—reflect his deep appreciation for the genre, though his musical tastes span far beyond prog.

Outside of music, Ken works as a data scientist and brings a thoughtful approach to interpreting complex material, a method that carries over to help him navigate the intricacies of Crimson’s catalog.

MARC MALITZ

BASS GUITAR

Marc Malitz is a seasoned bass guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, session player, and solo recording artist with more than 35 years of experience. Marc has performed and recorded with a range of artists in rock, prog, metal, and jazz. He is/was a key member of the bands Mindwarp Chamber, Fire Garden, Heavy Are The Clouds, Sam Joole and The Heart Attack, The Eclectics, and the Nascent Jazz Project. Marc is excited to be a part of a tribute to one of his all time favorite bands, King Crimson.
